The Upstairs
Clinic, a massagy therapy and wellness centre downtown, is
opening its walls and doors to Ottawa-area artist Natalie Tolmie
who has been painting and drawing since she could pick up a pencil,
but has never before held an art show.
Natalie grew up in a small town north of Wakefield, Quebec and
studied Fine Arts at Heritage College in Hull. She continued to
pursue her artistic passions during and after an Honours degree
in English Literature at University of Ottawa by taking classes
at the Ottawa School of Art, painting in her spare time and doing
an extensive number of art commissions.
Natalie’s style reflects her personality – it’s
vibrant and hard to pin down. She has traveled quite extensively
throughout Canada and Europe and her annual painting holidays
fuel her creativity and inspire many of her paintings. Her art
shows she's as comfortable working on realistic landscapes and
portraits as she is on colourful, abstract and fun canvases. She
experiments with a variety of media – ink and watercolour,
acrylic, oil and pencil.
